I’ve been teaching flute since 1992, firstly as a teacher with Leicestershire Arts music service and then as a private tutor. I teach flute from beginner to grade 6, either for pleasure or for Associated Board classical flute exams. My lessons are about having fun with the music and finding pieces that students really like to play, as well as improving technique. Some students like to play purely for pleasure whilst others prefer to work towards exams in a more structured way. The latter can be very useful for students who are working towards GCSE or A level music.

I organise a charity concert each year for any of my students who want to perform. Previous concerts have been a sell out, great fun and a good confidence builder.
