I’ve been teaching singing since 2002.
I teach a variety of styles including Classical, Music theatre, Jazz, Folk and Pop, either for pleasure and developing repertoire or working towards exams (Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music classical singing exams and LCM music theatre exams). People from 7 years to 70 have enjoyed improving their voices. A wide range of people, from beginners to professional singers, have benefited from my one to one coaching.

Beginners enjoy expressing themselves in a new way, learning to control and enhance their voices through exercises and songs. This can bring confidence and be the first step to an understanding and enjoyment of music that can lead to performance, exams or simply singing for oneself.

Even experienced singers benefit from exercises and techniques that keep their voice in good shape including warming up and cooling down routines, essential use of the diaphragm and ribcage to prevent strain on the vocal chords, exercises to enhance range and dynamic control, pitch and diction, tips on performance and vocal health.

I organise a charity concert each year for any of my students who want to perform. Previous concerts have been a sell out, great fun and a good confidence builder.

A few comments from some of my students:

“I would like to take the opportunity to thank you for what you have done this year to encourage my daughter. She has thoroughly enjoyed the lessons and the progress she has made has amazed me.”

“Thank you for all the support and encouragement you have shown my daughter over the years. She really loves her lessons. I think that she just clicked with you and I’m sure that this is in no small part why she has been so successful.”
